It always amazes me when I think that I've been doing drill for 28 years.  I can remember for my 21st birthday, I couldn't go out to celebrate because I was riding drill at a rodeo.

I grew up in Poway and rode with the Poway Valley Riders Association (PVRA) Rhythm Riders for 8 years.

While growing up my mom Dee was always there to help and support me when I wanted to run WPRA barrels, compete in Women's bareback riding or be Poway Rodeo Queen.   Mom soon caught the riding bug too.

When the family moved to Ramona in 1984 our horse family grew to a record 13 horses.  By then, Mom and I were riding together with the PVRA drill team, now called the Shooting Stars.   Soon we decided to start our own team in Ramona and the Rainbow Riders Drill team was born.

In the early years we had 8 riders and 5 of the horses we owned!  We had a 6 horse trailer and tent trailer for sleeping quarters.  We've come a long way since then Ladies!

I still barrel race when I can and look forward to another 20 years with the Rainbow Riders.
